If neither the absoute or relative time-based options are turned on, but the “Synchronize on Startup” option is on, MacUpdate will immediately begin an update scan when it is double-clicked upon, and then immediately afterwards will quit. The MacUpdate Setup window will not be displayed. To change the configuration when MacUpdate is configured like this, double click on MacUpdate to run it, and then immediately click a third time and hold it until the Setup window appears (i.e., triple-click and hold). You can click a fourth time to dismiss the About Window, but if you do, BE SURE TO HOLD DOWN THE MOUSE BUTTON until the MacUpdate Setup window is displayed. If the MacUpdate Setup window is not displayed, you did not the hold down the mouse button properly at the correct time.
